Faith journey

Returning after twelve years

Amaka I. Parishioner

A welcome at the door and a patient Confession brought me home to the Church.

I drifted from Mass for twelve years — not from anger, but from habit and shame. A neighbour invited me to Mater Misericordiae for a feast day. No one asked why I had been away.

I went to Confession the next Saturday. The priest listened with patience. Absolution felt like air after holding my breath for years.

Now I serve as a lector. If you are far from the Church, come anyway. Mercy has a parish address in Rumuomasi.
