Confirmation

Confirmation completes baptismal grace and strengthens the confirmed for Christian witness. Candidates prepare through parish formation; the sacrament is celebrated with the Bishop on a date set each pastoral year.

Preparation

Requirements

What you will typically need before Confirmation at Mater Misericordiae. The parish office will confirm details for your situation.

  1. Candidate must be baptised and have received First Holy Communion (certificates required).
  2. Enrolment in the parish Confirmation formation programme.
  3. Regular Mass attendance and participation in retreats or formation sessions as scheduled.
  4. A Confirmation sponsor who is a confirmed practising Catholic (not a parent).
  5. Willingness to live as a disciple and serve in the parish community.
