Schools & Institutions

Education, healthcare, and vocation apostolates of the Spiritan family connected with Mater Misericordiae.

Secondary School

Mater Misericordiae Secondary School

Faith and learning for young people of the parish.

Mater Misericordiae Secondary School is the parish school of Mater Misericordiae Catholic Church. It forms young people in academic excellence, character, and the Spiritan tradition of faith and service.

The school is shepherded by Spiritan priests who serve among staff and students. Rev. Fr. Anthony Obinwa, CSSp, is Principal, and Rev. Fr. Mbakwe Nicholas, CSSp, serves as Bursar, supporting stewardship and pastoral presence in the school community.

Families seeking admission or pastoral accompaniment for students are welcome to contact the school leadership through the parish office.

Spiritan University

Spiritan University Nneochi

Spiritan higher education at Nneochi.

Spiritan University Nneochi is a university of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans) at Nneochi, Abia State. As a Spiritan parish, Mater Misericordiae shares in this educational mission of forming minds and hearts for the Church and society.

The university offers higher learning in the Spiritan tradition of scholarship, missionary zeal, and service to the poor. Parishioners discerning university studies, or wishing to accompany the Spiritan academic apostolate in prayer, are encouraged to speak with the parish priests.

For programmes, admissions, and campus life, the parish office can help you connect with Spiritan University Nneochi.

Healthcare Apostolate

Spiritan Healthcare Apostolate

Healing ministry of the Spiritan family.

The Spiritan Healthcare Apostolate brings pastoral care and healing ministry together in service of the sick and the wider community. It is part of the Spiritan mission of mercy that also shapes parish life at Mater Misericordiae.

Rev. Fr. Munachiso Igwenagu, CSSp, serves as Associate Priest and Director II of the Spiritan Healthcare Apostolate. He accompanies the work of healing with prayer, presence, and pastoral concern for those who suffer.

If you need pastoral care in illness, or wish to support this apostolate, please contact the parish office or Fr. Munachiso through the clergy directory.

Vocation Movement

Holy Ghost Vocation Movement

Discern priesthood and consecrated life.

The Holy Ghost Vocation Movement accompanies young people discerning a call to the priesthood and religious life. Rooted in the Spiritan charism, it fosters prayer, formation, and missionary zeal among those who may be called.

Rev. Fr. Chinedu Ibearugbulem, CSSp, directs the movement. He walks with discerners through conversation, spiritual accompaniment, and referral to the appropriate formation house or vocation director.

If you sense a call to priesthood or consecrated life — Spiritan or diocesan — you are welcome to begin a conversation. Reach Fr. Chinedu or the parish priests through the parish office.
