Ask the Holy Spirit for light. Reflect prayerfully:

- Have I put God first — prayer, Mass, Sunday obligation?
- Have I spoken truthfully and charitably?
- Have I respected parents, family, and authority?
- Have I respected the dignity of others in thought, word, and deed?
- Have I been honest with time, money, and responsibilities?
- Have I forgiven those who hurt me?

Bring mortal sins in kind and number to Confession; also mention habitual venial sins you wish to overcome.
